Congratulations!
It is about time some real, relevant, and open minded Christians create something that speaks to our generation about Christ! I am 23 and am fed up with stuffy, legalistic, egotistic, over spiritual Christians hype! I will definitely spread the word about your magazine and website. Bring the truth and don't get caught up in the fakeness that Christianity has developed into. I believe that if Jesus were in body today the American church would not even recognize Him because he would not be they kind of person we have portrayed Him as. He would be with the poor, on the streets performing miracles, rebuking the modern day pharasees who sit behind the church walls in their three piece suites and ignore the dying world. It is harsh, but very true!

Q&A With Jon Foreman
I want to thank you for including the interview with Switchfoot's Jon Foreman in your weekly newsletter deal. That article really met me where Ii seem to perpetually be at. I'm a Christian songwriter with a group that's just starting to come together, and honestly I'm scared to death of my dreams of some sort of musical success to come true due all the politics that seem to accompany Christians in music. I accepted Christ a little under a year ago and was surprised to see how Christian artists seem to get more flak from their own people than from non-believers. The anxiety of being too Christian for the secular audience and not Christian enough for the Body of Christ seems to always loom overhead. I wanted to thank you for reporting on and supporting artists who have the courage to move past the Christian bubble and go where God is calling them. It's very encouraging and please keep doing what you're doing.

Breaker 9
I just want to drop a line saying that I really dig your site. I check it every day, and I have the U2 and Tony Soprano books. The Dylan one is on my list for reading after finals are through. What I really wanted to say was that I like that you guys post thought-provoking stuff rather than just fluff pieces about how great the latest Christian (fill in any thing produced in the market) is. It's hard to talk to some kids whose idea of what a Christian student does is sit in his dorm listening to Newsboys and organizing Bible studies. Your site shows that there are logical, cool Christians who will have two sided conversations. Along with the site's analyses on pop culture, you talk about the jerks who are continually allowed to define Christianity to our culture. Please continue to do so. I think more people need to know that not all Christians are like Jerry Falwell, Fred Phelps, Pat Robertson, or other people who spew hate and judgment in the name of Jesus.

Praise
OK so I am a Christian of about 4 years now. I have been struggling for the past couple of months of how to gain a fresh perspective of Christ and what he means to me. Well my walk is growing again, and I would just like to say that your website is such a breath of fresh air to me. I love the deeper walk section and I print them and sometimes use them for my Bible studies. I belong to a Christian movement on campus at my university and they are perfect. I think that you blend God, life and progressive culture amazingly and I have been a fan of the site since the beginning. I will definitely get the print version.

Fight the Good Fight
I recently stumbled on your website by following up on an article I read elsewhere on the Tony Soprano book. I would just like to congratulate your staff on a job well done that needed to be done. Your magazine really seems to be confronting and struggling with the questions of how Christianity can be a relevant (hence the name) viewpoint in contemporary culture and how Christianity can contribute successfully to modern culture. I attended a Christian college and was too often disappointed by the almost deliberate ignorance many of the Christians I met took to the world around them. You people at Relevant are fighting the good fight against that, and I salute you for it. Although I only nominally call myself a Christian and don't necessarily agree with some of your articles, I think Relevant can be an example to people of all different faiths as to how to keep the integrity of your faith and still live in the 21st century. Keep up the good work.

AvantGo
Man I love this mag! I can't wait till it comes out in print. Until then I've decided, with the help of AvantGo, to download your main page to my Palm every morning (okay I know that sounds super nerdy but oh well, it's the truth). Keep up the great work and hurry up with that print copy. Hey will it still be on the net?
Steve Barker

[cs:] Yes, it'll still be on the Net. The print and web editions are actually being built to complement each other very well. We think you'll like what's in store.

Need Writers?
First off I am very glad to read RELEVANT magazine its awesome stuff. Second do you guys need any volunteer journalists?
Adrienne Smith

[cs:] Yeah, but ones that use correct punctuation. If you're interested in writing, simply send an error-free email to Cara Baker at cara@relevantmediagroup.com.

Well Placed
My brother has been nagging me for weeks to check out your site. I finally did, and was surprised at the intensity I could feel behind all the well placed words and effects of a well-run website. This is the time for the parable-speakers to come out of the closets they've been hiding in. Heavy-laden with words of hope, justice, peace, and forgiveness, every faith driven writer and thinker of our age has lacked a medium. You are the vehicle that gives normal people the idea that they don't need to feel overwhelmed with the barrage of media surrounding them; you're the connections that start a motor that has been long standing in stall. I feel like i've connected with hundreds of survivors and overcomers that share the common ground of YOU supplying communication. Such communication is vital in wartime, and your efforts are encouraging. Thank you for helping to keep us aware.
John

[cs:] Dang, these emails are nice to get.

You're Sitting In My Living Room
I cannot tell you how excited I was to find your site. It is like you guys have been sitting in my living room listening us describe how to reach our culture. We are a group of actors and writers trying to reach our culture without being labeled Christian. We are of course, but we all work in the real world. We want to relate to the world by actually being out in it, acting and writing, and through that we will touch people. We are in Fort Myers and it is so refreshing to read your articles, especially the new one on "Getting Out Of The Faith Ghetto" Awesome. We have been trying to get the church to listen to these ideas for about 3 years now. Most of it has fallen on deaf ears. But this article really affirmed what we already knew.. and have been practicing ourselves. Keep up the good work
