I went to a show again. I always seem to be going to shows!
………..

I’ve probably been to the Metro hundreds of times. When you go to a show every weekend, it starts to add up. My first Metro show was Chevelle (one of my favorite bands 8 years ago…) around the time of their “Point #1″ release (1999), it was before I could drive and I had to depend on my older stepbrother to get me around. This Chevelle show kicked off what would be a long-time relationship with the venue across the street from Wrigley Field, there would be ups and downs, great shows and duds. This weekend my wife and I rode our bicycles over to the Metro yet again and had the pleasure of seeing one of my current favorite bands, Menomena.

Menomena’s tour is just about over, but make sure to check out one of the best releases of 2007, Friend and Foe (released on Barsuk records). For fans of the multi-tasking multi-instrumentalists, Menomena never seems to let up. And you’ll never see a drummer hit the skins harder.

They have some cool videos. watch them:

Hey bro,
I’ve been there for everyone from Evanesence to Copeland to Underoath to Switchfoot to The Fray. The Metro is one of the best places in the world to me…

Thanks for the heads-up on Menomena. Just listening now, but the website is gaudy-1990s and awesome.
Menomena is absolutley wonderful. Friend and Foe is definitely one of the best. Thanks for giving them some love!
Hey Dylan,
Great to see that you are still going to a bunch of shows. We miss our late night hangout times at Denny’s. Those french vanilla cappucinos sure are tasty! Matt says that you and him should come down to Tulsa to visit. Jaclyn could come too.
