RELEVANT Podcast Mascots

On the June 22 edition of the RELEVANT Podcast, we asked you for submissions for a RELEVANT Podcast mascot. We got several great entries, which are below. Help us decide which (if any) should become our official mascot. Post your choices in the comments section below.
David Michael Moore:
David submitted the RELEPHANT mascot, and then a couple of days later sent a comic strip illustrating his travels to the RELEVANT office.
Evan Peck:
“It’s crucial to realize that Urs can travel in packs of thousands.
Thousands.”
Tony:
Tony names his mascot “Annie The Mascot.” For “Annie-time… Annie-where.”
Brian Hellam:
The Mighty Relevant Podcast Fighting Bird Smoothie. “Need I say more?”
Ty Maier:
“Since the mascot will probably be showing up in the Podcast pic I decided to put *them* in for you guys. I decided that just 1 mascot alone could not be better than red. So, we need a team of mascots. There are 4 of them. There are the twins, Russell and Bert. Russell is always working out and has an awkwardly huge
smile all the time. Bert has a gun, ‘nuff said, There is also RocketMan. As the title states, he is on a rocket/missile. He is from Texas. And of course there is an usher. Why? I have no idea, but he looks really cool with his ‘stache.”
Aaron Maurer:
“The mascot is, of course, Stephen the Jesus Christ Lizard. You know the deal: these things can actually sort of run across water and they look really goofy doing it. Why Stephen? Well, in addition to being the name of both the first Christian martyr and Mr. Colbert, I think using normal human names for animals imparts an extra degree of hilarity. Like naming a dog Eugene.”
Trent Ahern:
This mascot poster is for the “U of Relevant Magazine”
Jake Neumann:
Jake’s idea was the koallifish from a previous episode, but slightly modified. Why should it be the mascot, you may ask? Jake says because “it represents the podcast very well, with its cute lovableness, and when I think of your show, I think of all of the joy that that koallifish and your podcast has brought me.”

I think the Relephant is pretty sweet. But that foursome of mascots is pretty cool too…and after all they are a funky bunch.
The Relephant wins, hands down.
I vote for Relephant. It is both well illustrated and clever.
Relephants are cute but very high maintenance and too large to be kept around the office, but if we are talking a nylon elephant suit that an intern is forced to wear, then i give it 2 thumbs up!
just make sure you let them have a frosty too when you send them out in public…
a little payment for their humiliation.

I emphatically support the RELEPHANT. The others are pretty sweet (especially Stephen and the foursome), but what can I say, it was love at first sight.

I am all for the Relephant. It is well designed and quite fitting.
First - the Relephant is great! But then again, so is the fighting bird smoothie - he needs to be updated, though.
Second - I love that you all told the same Quiznos toasted bug story in two different podcasts! I just listened to the most recent podcast… and then went back to listen to old podcasts (I get bored at work) - and in the April 6th podcast, you told the same story! It was pretty funny.

stick to the Relephant, but don’t count on any intern wearing ANYTHING of that sort.. We aren’t paid, but that doesn’t allow you to take all of our pride..

Even though it has a lame name and it is just a bit creepy I think Annie would take down the relephant anytime.

My vote is for the Relephant… Though, I used to intern at a zoo, so I guess I’m kind of biased.

While all the mascots are great (particularly the Relephant - nicely illustrated concept), my vote has got to go to Stephen the Jesus Christ lizard! There’s an idea that works as a mascot, a spiritual metaphor, and a handy and impressive pet.
“So your pet fetches sticks? Mine walks on water. Top that.”
Hands down to Relephant. Although, I am disappointed at the lack of flying squirrels, and badgers, or maybe even a mad old cat lady. There definitely would be some of that action going down, if only I could draw. Good day.

The Relephant is really cool. Though…If it were my mascot, I would totally side with Cait and say that bragging rights to a pet that could walk on water would definitely bring me sweet satisfaction.
Am I the only one who, the entire time Relevant Podcast Mascots have been on the table, have thought they should be referred to as Podscots?
…or if it’s for the magazine in general, a Magscot? Eh? Yes? Kevin Eubanks?

Scroll down to the gray t-shirt….looks kind of familiar. I guess elephants on pennyfarthers are pretty common nowadays. I prefer the Relephant.

I like the relephant idea but it looks more like a hip Republican mascot. Maybe it’s the red colors with the white logo on the side, I don’t know.
