Ryan Bell is a pastor in California who has decided to live 2014 as an atheist. It’s an odd move. He’s an ordained minister, former church pastor, teacher at Christian universities and a church consultant. Or, well, he was. Following his announcement, a lot of those organizations distanced themselves from Pastor Bell, which is probably just as well, considering his resolution. Bell says it’s an experiment—he’s not a real atheist (“at least, not yet”) but he just wants to spend the year trying to “do whatever I can to enter the world of atheism and live, for a year, as an atheist.” He’s blogging about his godless adventures here, if you’d care to follow along …
