The New York Times has dropped a blistering and very sad bombshell about Asia Argento, one of the very first women to come forward with accusations about the despicable behavior of disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and an early leader of the #MeToo movement. It seems Argento herself paid $380,000 to buy the silence of a young actor named Jimmy Bennet, who claimed she’d sexually assaulted him in a hotel room when he was 17 and she was 37.
The Times received an anonymous email containing documents detailing Bennet’s claim and Argento’s subsequent payment, including a photo of the two from 2013. Argento did not respond to the Times‘ multiple requests for comment.
Bennett, who appeared as the young James Kirk the 2009 Star Trek movie and one of the family children in Evan Almighty, is 22 today. He also declined to be interviewed.
