Pam Brekke of Central Florida has a father on oxygen, and feared that the coming hurricane would cause her home to lose power. She raced to the nearest Lowe’s, only to find that the last generator had just been purchased.
But when Ramon Santiago saw Brekke burst into tears after learning he’d just bought the last one, he did something truly inspiring: He gave it to her, and comforted her as she cried, assuring her that everything was going to be OK.
Hurricane Irma has already left massive destruction in its path, but it’s these kinds of moments of humanity are a reminder of the power of loving your neighbor in their time of need.
