Concerned that there’s an entire generation of young creatives, illustrators and artists who never learned to actually draw, Adobe is releasing two new tools that connect analogue drawing with digital programs. The Project Might digital pen and Project Napoleon digital ruler allow users to access files and tools from programs like Photoshop and Illustrator, but still physically draw images using a tablet. One of Adobe’s lead designers, Geoff Dowd told Wired, “But at the end of the day, if we can teach a generation of young creators to draw or they can be inspired to draw or feel good about drawing, then perhaps we’ve saved drawing.” That seems like a pretty bold claim, but the new products do look pretty cool.
