This weekend, Carried Underwood was a guest on CBS Sunday Morning to discuss her new album Cry Pretty, but things took an emotional turn when she began to discuss some of the events of the last year that inspired some of the record’s heavier songs.
The singer revealed that she experienced three miscarriages, and opened up about how it affected her faith.
Underwood describes feeling guilty about being angry with God because her family is so blessed but also explains how it’s OK to sometimes be mad at God.
“I was like why Lord do I keep getting pregnant if I can’t have a kid? What is this? Shut the door. Do something. Either shut the door or let me have a kid. And, for the first time, I feel like I actually told God how I felt. And I feel like we’re supposed to do that.”
A few days later, Underwood found out that her current pregnancy was healthy, and the doctors expected everything to be all right this time.
It is a powerful and emotional watch.
