‘Peep’ this: America’s favorite Easter candy this year is none other than Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs.
Instacart asked participants from around the country about their favorite easter candies, and Reese’s eggs were by far the number one his. Reese’s eggs aren’t just a hit in one or two states – they were the top-selling seasonal candy in 29 states last year.
RetailMeNot conducted their own candy survey and found that 51 percent of respondents chose Reese’s eggs as their favorite Easter treat, followed by chocolate bunnies (17 percent), Cadbury eggs (13 percent), jellybeans (12 percent) and Peeps (7 percent).
It seems like Americans can’t get enough of their Easter candy. The National Retail Federation predicts consumers will spend a record $24 billion on Easter this year, with $3.3 billion going towards candy alone.
