Wrestling icon, sometimes superhero and walking meme John Cena has another accomplishment to add under his belt: breaking the world record for most wishes granted through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The foundation announced that Cena has granted 650 wishes, more than anyone else associated with the organization that brings hope and joy to children with critical illnesses. . To be fair though, it isn’t much of a competition. According to a press release, no one else has ever granted more than 200 wishes in the 42-year existence of the foundation.
The actor began his professional entertainment career in 1999, and began working with the foundation in 2002. Over the last two decades, he has become the celebrity children most often request to meet, according to the foundation. Probably because he brings one of his many championship belts for kids to take photos with, or probably because he’s John Cena.
Listen, we’re glad celebrities like Cena are more than happy to take the time to make someone’s day a little bit better. It’s a good reminder that, even though we’re not a WWE legend or superhero, we can still do something small to make a big impact.
