
According to new data, the average smart phone user checks their device anywhere from 110 to 150 times a day. The Android app Locket actually pays users, who allow them to place ads on their homescreen (when the screen is locked), giving the company access to the behavior of more than 150,000 smartphone users. And the users aren’t just glancing down at their phones—75% of users are actually unlocking the home screen. And though their numbers may seem inflated (because their paying users to check their phones, after all), the stats are actually significantly lower than another recent study that suggested that the average smartphone user checks their device 150 times a day.
