A few months back, we learned that a third National Treasure movie was in the works with Nicolas Cage. Now it seems that the National Treasaissance is actually going full throttle with both a threequel and a new TV show for Disney+, meaning this comeback is at least as carefully planned as the mission to steal the Declaration of Independence.

In a conversation with Collider, producer Jerry Bruckheimer revealed the television show is in the works and he’ll be overseeing it. “We’re certainly working on one [National Treasure] for streaming and we’re working on one for the big screen,” Bruckheimer he said. “Hopefully, they’ll both come together and we’ll bring you another National Treasure, but they’re both very active.”

Bruckheimer explained that while the movie would center on Cage’s intrepid explorer of America antiquity Benjamin Gates, the TV show would skew younger — bringing a new generation up to speed on the myriad clues and puzzles America’s Founding Fathers left behind on our most beloved landmarks.

That’s about all we know at this point, but anything that cements Cage’s legacy is good news.
