The Atlanta Hawks Thought This Ashley Madison-Themed Video Ad Was a Good Idea

The NBA is generally a family-friendly operation, so you probably wouldn’t expect the Twitter account of one of the league’s teams to make light of the Ashley Madison scandal. Well, evidently the marketing department of the Atlanta Hawks thought that an entire campaign should be based on the website that facilitates infidelity. In the video below, a woman named Ashley Madison convinces fans of other teams to call 1-855-HAWK-LUV, assuring, “Don’t worry, your old team never has to know.”

Of course, the leak of user information on the actual Ashley Madison site exposed millions of people attempting to cheat on their spouses, leading, in some cases, people to commit suicide. Jamie Tworkowski, author and founder of the organization To Write Love On Her Arms, was one of the many people to speak out against the add, tweeting, “Dear @ATLHawks, Please delete. In real life, people lost jobs, marriages & there were suicides as well. Not a joke.”
