U2’s Bono was recently a guest on The Today Show. He sat down for a segment hosted by Jenna Bush Hager called “Open Book,” in which guests discuss the books they’ve loved that have impacted their lives.
Bono discusses books he enjoyed growing up, like Moby Dick and The Chronicles of Narnia, as well as ones he’s currently reading, like Lifelines: Notes on Life & Love, Faith & Doubt, co-authored by a prison chaplain who’s also a friend of the musician.
Toward the end of the segment, Bono talks about books he’s read to his children, including the Harry Potter series and Eugene Peterson’s The Message Bible.
Peterson and Bono struck up a friendship late in Peterson’s life, and in 2016, the two sat down for an extended conversation about the Psalms.
