Netflix just seriously upped its star power. According to Deadline, Netflix is paying nearly $30 million for War Machine, a satirical feature based on the book The Operators: The Wild And Terrifying Inside Story Of America’s War In Afghanistan. In it, Brad Pitt will play a high profile American general, loosely based on real-life Gen. Stanley McChrystal. In a statement, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said, “War Machine is a rip-roaring, behind-the-facade tale of modern war decision-makers, from the corridors of power to the distant regions of America’s ambitions. “Brad and [director] David [Michod] are a perfect team to make this timely, compelling and entertaining film.” The movie releases sometime in 2016 …
