Pop star Cardi B recently garnered headlines for dropping a brand new album, and also revealing that she was pregnant. This week, she was a guest on The Breakfast Club morning show, and discussed some of the comments that she’s gotten from fans and critics.
She told the hosts the pregnancy wasn’t planned, but she didn’t want to end it. She said, “I just didn’t want to deal with the whole abortion thing. I just didn’t want to.”
She also said that it bothered her that people would criticize her for being pregnant. “It really bothers me and it disgusts me because I see a lot of women online like, ‘Oh, I feel sorry for you. Oh, your career is over.’ And it’s just like, why can’t I have both? Like as a woman why can’t I have both? Like, why do I have to choose a career or a baby? Like, why can’t I have both? It’s like, why do I have to wait until I’m 30-something to have a kid? I want my kid now.”
