Chris Evans, who’s been a leading role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2011, announced that he’s officially done with the role of Captain America.
Yesterday, he tweeted this:
Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.

Which means he probably dies in Avengers 4, or at least passes the shield onto someone else. We’re disappointed, but not surprised. Earlier this year, Evans told the New York Times, “You want to get off the train before they push you off,” hinting at the idea of Cap’s departure.
Chris Evans, everyone. Clearly not the best at spoilers. Or is Marvel trying to trick us again? Are all of our remaining heroes going to die? We’re looking forward to finding out when Avengers 4 drops in May.
