Yes, the BBC has announced that they’re going to be airing a brand new “mini-episode” of Sherlock on Christmas (ahead of the next series’ New Year’s Day premiere) called “Many Happy Returns.” There’s a brief, spoiler-y synopsis that simply reads “Sherlock Holmes has been gone for two years. But someone isn’t quite convinced that he’s dead…” and that’s about all we’ve got to work with. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman may not even be in it, for all we know.
