Facebook Users Come Together As One to Condemn Senseless Dinosaur Poaching

This week, a distressingly large number of Facebook users raised their voices against the Hollywood elite who spend their free time killing off the world’s dinosaurs. That’s a pretty incredible sentence, but it’s true.

After Santa Jay Branscomb posted a photo of Steven Spielberg on the set of Jurassic Park, several Facebook users decried Spielberg’s senseless violence against our Triceratops friends. Branscomb posted the photo ironically, typing “Disgraceful photo of recreational hunter happily posing next to a Triceratops he just slaughtered. Please share so the world can name and shame this despicable man.” But several did not get the joke and flew into a blind rage. “I don’t care who he is,” declared one. “He should not have shot that animal.” Another called it “disgusting” and “inhumane,” suggesting that Spielberg should have taken the animal to a zoo.

So, there are a few people out there whose grasp of biology might be charitably described as “outdated.” Nevertheless, it’s nice to see people agree on something for once …
