‘Family Guy’ Episode Pulled After Mash-Up Video Makes References to Boston Marathon Bombing

Fox has pulled an episode of Family Guy off of Hulu and said it will not re-air it, after a user-created mash-up on YouTube made it look as if it was referencing the recent Boston Marathon bombings. But honestly, even with out the user-edits, the episode is pretty distasteful—even for Family Guy standards. In the “Turban Cowboy” episode, Peter wins the Boston Marathon by plowing over runners in his car, telling Bob Costas, “When there was a guy in my way, I killed him.” Later on, Peter unknowingly uses a cell phone given to him by a terrorist to blow up a bomb. The YouTube clip was edited to make it appear that the two scenes were connected. In response, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, tweeted, “The edited Family Guy clip currently circulating is abhorrent. The event was a crime and a tragedy, and my thoughts are with the victims” …
