Bestselling author of books including Faults in Our Stars and Paper Towns (both of which have been adapted into films), John Green, recently tweeted his support for helping refugees, citing his own faith and the teachings of Jesus. He told his nearly 5 million followers that the “xenophobia I see online is horrifying,” along with a link to Matthew 25, in which Jesus praises those who help people in need. His tweets come the U.S. and European nations are engaged in frequently-heated debates about how to help the hundreds of thousands of migrants and refugees fleeing violence, ISIS and poverty in Syria, parts of the Middle East and North Africa.
