Here’s What Luke Skywalker Says to Rey in ‘The Last Jedi’

Yesterday, Disney shareholders got a very early look at the opening of Star Wars episode VIII, the next installment saga coming out this Christmas season. And it answered a huge question.

As everyone in the galaxy knows, 2015’s The Force Awakens ends with heroine Rey climbing a Lord of the Rings-looking mountain to find Luke Skywalker standing at the top (doing something)—and the movies ends before either of them speak a word. As you know, the movie-watching world is now filled with speculation about what happens next.

Last night’s screening of The Last Jedi obviously didn’t allow cameras or recorders, but some people there are reporting what they saw. The clip reportedly showed glimpses of Chewbacca and Finn, and someone shouting, “It’s now or never.” And the big moment, they’re saying, happens when the clip showed Luke and Rey on the same mountain where The Force Awakens ended.

Luke takes his lightsaber from Rey and then asks her, “Who are you?”

The interesting thing is, that’s essentially the same question everyone else is asking about the mysterious character, too. So let’s hope her answer is really good.
