Timothy Olyphant Will Join the Next Season of ‘The Mandalorian’

The Mandalorian was a surprisingly solid hit for Disney+, proving that the rookie streaming service’s original content could compete with the vets and injecting some fresh life into a franchise that often thrives on recycling its greatest hits. Season two is well underway and while most of the proceedings have been kept secret, we have learned about some new cast additions. Among them, Justified‘s Timothy Olyphant will be showing up in some capacity.

Olyphant’s a terrific presence, from his iconic churlish lawman in Justified to his more normie dad vibe in Netflix’s The Santa Clarita Diet. There’s no telling who or what he’ll be bringing to The Mandalorian‘s second season but it’s sure to be a treat. Also on board is Terminator star Michael Biehn and Temuera Morrison, the actor who played Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones. He didn’t make it to the end of that movie alive but, well, death has a very fluid concept in Star Wars so don’t be surprised if pops up in The Mandalorian.

Just as much fun is some of the talent being brought in behind the camera. Alita: Battle Angel‘s Robert Rodriguez and Ant-Man‘s Peyton Reed are both directing an episode, as is show creator Jon Favreau. Season two premieres in October.
