Primetime audiences may not have seen the last of the Tanner family. TV Guide is reporting that John Stamos—who famously played Uncle Jesse in the series—is “leading the charge” on a new series that would feature much of the original TGIF cast. Bob Saget (Danny), Dave Coulier (Joey), Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy) are all said to be involved.
The Olsen twins don’t seem to be interested, so the fate of little Michelle would be a question that would presumably be cleared up in the pilot for this new version of the family sitcom, which evidently still pulls in big ratings in syndication. Details about storylines and characters are unclear, but if they don’t bring back the theme song, we can almost guarantee the project will be a massive failure. Shoo-bit-a-ba-ba-bow …
