Behold your new kings! It’s certain that in real life, the monsters of the Godzilla universe, from Mothra to Rodan to King Ghidorah, would terrify us, but in the new trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters, they look absolutely stunning.
Set to a glorious rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” the trailer showcases some incredible money-shots of the movie’s cast of titan-sized beasts. In the film itself, the plot (“plot”) revolves around the arrival of Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah on earth to battle over our planet, and Godzilla having to rise up to stop them. That is so dang cool.
Millie Bobby Brown is making her feature film debut here, alongside Kyle Chandler, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins and Vera Farmiga. This is a B-movie financed with A-movie money and supported by an A-movie crew. We can’t wait. It comes out May 31.
