Google to Bring the Internet to Developing Countries … With Blimps

Google is launching a new plan to bring wireless Internet networks to remote areas of Africa and Asia, and they’re using blimps to do it. The company said that their goal is to find inexpensive solutions to provide “connectivity to rural communities with poor telecommunications infrastructure” and to expand “coverage of wireless broadband in densely populated urban areas.” Google plans to use special, relatively cheap, Android-powered, smart phones to connect residents to the network.
