The so-far untitled, long gestating, highly anticipated new TV show from Martin Scorsese has finally been ordered to a full series by HBO, which makes this Scorsese’s first new show since Boardwalk Empire became a major player in the world of Serious Television. This show will take a look at the rock and roll industry through the ’70s, and how the dream of rebellion, expensive drugs and free sex slowly crashed into tragic realities. It will star a label exec (Bobby Cannavale) looking to find a new act and his wife (Olivia Wilde) who will probably be totally happy with her life as a quiet, stay-at-home wife and their marriage will not have any drama or tension whatsoever.
The series will also star James Jagger (his father, who is a co-producer, has some experience in the music industry) as an up-and-coming punk rock star and Ray Romano will be around too, apparently. At this point, that’s about all we know …
