HBO recently acquired the rights to Cormoran Strike, the show produced by BBC One and based on the crime novels by J.K. Rowling—writing as Robert Galbraith, according to Deadline.
The show is a limited series only made up of three events, each one based on one of the best-selling crime novels: The Cuckoo’s Calling will be three hours, The Silkworm and Career of Evil will each be two hours.
This is the second time HBO has picked up a BBC One adaptation of a Rowling novel, the first being with her novel Casual Vacancy.
Rowling will be the executive producer for all of the episodes. Filming will take place in London and begins this fall, so we can probably expect to see it on TV in early 2017.
