Oh, Golden Globes. Always the bridesmaid, never the Oscars. While a Golden Globe may lack the prestige of its big brother in the Academy, the Golden Globe ceremony is one of Hollywood’s surest bets. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hosting, the stars always seem a little more at ease (unlike the Oscars, the Golden Globes allow drinking) and the whole thing doesn’t seem to take itself too seriously. But what is serious are these nominees. No major surprises, as Twelve Years a Slave, Gravity, Her, American Hustle and Nebraska dominated the film categories, while Breaking Bad, House of Cards and Modern Family brought in their expected nods.
