Hillsong Worship’s Version of ‘O Holy Night’ Will Give You Chills

Hillsong Worship has released a stirring version of the Christmas classic, “O Holy Night”. The fully orchestrated take on the holiday staple not only features a full choir, but also the powerful lead vocals of Taya Smith.

The song is part of Hillsong’s new The Peace Project, a collection of Christmas staples including “Joy to the World,” “Hark,” “Seasons,” “Prince of Heaven” and “O Come All Ye Faithful.”

The album was recorded live in Sydney, Australia.

The group has also just released a new version of the song “Silent Night:”

What sets “O Holy Night” apart from many holiday classics is its hymn-like quality that focuses on both the nature of God and heart of the Christmas story, as well as the redemption that can be found in faith.

Considering it was written back in 1847, the song still holds up incredibly well.
