Netflix is notoriously guarded about viewing data, but they’ve recently decided to reveal their most popular new original shows and movies of the year. (Otherwise, we assume the list would just be The Office seasons 1 – 5.)
They looked at series released between Jan. 1 and Nov. 28 which had “the highest average watch time per viewing session” to determine what was binged the most.
The high school drama On My Block topped the list, followed by the true crime docuseries Making a Murderer: Part 2 andthe new season of 13 Reasons Why. The rest:
- Last Chance U: Indy
- Bodyguard
- Fastest Car
- The Haunting of Hill House
- Anne with an E: Season 2
- Insatiable
- Orange Is the New Black: Season 6.
In terms of original Netflix movies, high school rom-coms dominated, with The Kissing Booth, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and Roxanne Roxanne making up the top three.
