
One of the many tidbits revealed in Sony’s massive email dump was that Sony execs are very interested in recruiting Idris Elba to fill Daniel Craig’s shoes as the next James Bond. It’s sort of a no-brainer, as there are few people on the planet right now channeling Elba’s levels of debonair cool, and almost everyone is on board with the idea (almost everyone). And now, Elba has spoken out, on Twitter of all places, saying “Isn’t 007 supposed to handsome? Glad you think I’ve got a shot!” while doing his very best to look un-suave.
It’s pretty coy, so there’s no way of know whether anyone is currently in what the industry calls “talks.” In the meantime, Craig isn’t relinquishing his suit just yet. He’ll star in the next Bond movie, which is due next year. The film is apparently called Spectre, and will feature Christoph Waltz handling the duties of expecting Mr. Bond to die …
