‘Insatiable,’ the Worst Show of the Year, Is Coming Back for Season Two

Perhaps all the negative press ended up boosting views after all. Netflix’s Insatiable, panned by critics and ripped apart by many under accusations of fat-shaming and insensitivity, has been renewed by the streaming service for a second season. (h/t Variety)

Season one of Insatiable was probably the worst TV show we watched this year. Not only was it offensive toward just about every group of people you could think of—from those who struggle with weight to those who struggle with mental health to those who, for crying out loud, were victims of sexual assault—it just wasn’t very funny as a comedy and not very exciting as an episode-to-episode television show.

In July, a Change.org petition garnered 100,000 signatures demanding Netflix pull the series. While the show’s creators and stars fought back against the accusations of fat shaming in particular, those efforts didn’t help reception.

Either way, it doesn’t matter now. Maybe being so bad worked out in Insatiable‘s favor. Now we have a whole new season to shake our heads at. Great.
