The vinyl resurgence of recent years has resulted in millions of old school LPs being sold to record-loving fans—could the same be done for cassettes? Following the success of Record Store Day, which is held each April, a handful of artists are attempting to bring cassette tapes back into the mainstream by kicking off the first ever Cassette Store Day on Sept. 7. Cheap cassettes may not offer the same aesthetic cachet of their vinyl counterparts, but with the buy-in from some notable acts, it may actually be worth dusting off your old Walkman for.
