Starting today (and running through April 27), New York City will be home to America’s one and only cat café. In addition to being able to drink a free “cat’achino” (because it’s a good cause, we’re going to look past that name) visitors will be introduced to 16 ownerless felines that are up for adoption. The temporary pop-up shop is a collaboration between the North Shore Animal League and Purina One to raise awareness about animal adoption, and will also host six speaking presentations from celebrities and cat experts. New Yorkers can head over to 168 Bowery St. this week to claim their free coffee—and maybe even leave with a new pet. Not incorporating some of this cat-inspired latte art would be a real missed opportunity …
