The new trailer for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part reveals a new character, Rex Dangervest, voiced by none other than Chris Pratt. But wait, isn’t Chris Pratt already voicing Emmet, the main character? Yep. It’s Pratt vs. Pratt. Everything really is awesome.
The first movie’s self-aware humor, meta-commentary and zippy tone are all still here in full force. Will Arnett is back as Batman and Elizabeth Banks is back as Wyldstyle, too. A new character aside from Dangervest (sick name, brah) looks to be Stephanie Beatriz-voiced Captain Mayhem. We’re not certain if she’s a bad guy in full at this point, but we are wary of the classic cartoon-movie good guy/bad guy switcheroo these things tend to pull.
After all, how else are you supposed to deliver a message about universal love and friendship if we don’t learn our enemies can be good people, too?
If it’s more Pratt you want, you’ll have twice the amount of him when LEGO Movie 2 arrives on February 8, 2019.
