The Oscar-nominated actor behind critically acclaimed films like Her and The Master is reportedly in talks to portray Jesus Christ in an upcoming film about Mary Magdalene. According to Deadline, the biopic starring Rooney Mara will look at the “misunderstood” biblical figure in an “authentic and humanistic” light. In other words, don’t expect rock monsters. The Weinstein Co.-produced film starts shooting next year.
