John Cena is shaping up to have a surprisingly marvelous run in 2022. His surprise hit series Peacemaker wrapped up its season finale on HBOMax this week, and his next match-up is already on the radar: Wile E. Coyote.
Cena will star opposite the cartoon coyote in the new movie Coyote v. Acme. The animated hybrid film follows Wile E. Coyote who is suing the ACME Corporation after their products fail him one too many times in his attempt to capture the Roadrunner. Coyote hires a billboard lawyer/former ACME employee to face off against the big bad lawyer for ACME, played by Cena. The unlikely duo form an even more unlikely bond that stokes their determination to win.
Hollywood has been on a nostalgia kick over the last few years, bringing childhood classics to life through hybrid animation films, including Space Jam 2, Tom and Jerry, and Clifford the Big Red Dog, which somehow all come out last year. Cena will now join the long list of comedy actors who have had to yell at cartoon figures. Should be an interesting time.
