Just In Time For Christmas: The Hipster Nativity Set

Hark! Take a quick stock of your Christmas decorations. The tree, of course. A wreath on the door, perhaps. Some stockings, all prepped and ready for Santa. And your nativity scene. How are you feeling about it? Is it a little … traditional, perhaps? Just a touch … first century?

Well, that’s nothing that can’t be fixed over Amazon Prime, where you can purchase this set of young urban millennials looking super chill on the first Christmas. The set first debuted last year, but is still for sale now on the site.

Both a first Christmas parody and a rundown of the laziest possible millennial stereotypes, you’ve got Mary and Joseph taking a selfie. Mary’s got her Starbucks and seems awfully chipper for having just delivered a baby, but you know how those crazy millennials are. Always with the selfies.

There are the three wisemen on their Segways, only one of whom is black, making this particular nativity less racially diverse than the original one. No matter how imaginative a parody, the idea of more than one non-white person in any given setting is always seems just a little too creative for some artists.

Speaking of artists you’ve got a … guy on an iPad. He’s standing next to a sheep, so presumably he’s the twenty-first century equivalent of a shepherd or something. And there’s the cow with an “organic” sticker on it. Sure. Organic cows. Why not?
