Keanu Reeves on the Three Keanu Reeves Movies Everyone Should Watch

Keanu Reeves is the subject of this very interesting profile over at Esquire, where the greatly adored actor gives a wide-ranging conversation around a subject pretty much everyone loves: himself. It’s full of gushing praise from current and former co-stars, and some fairly profound musing on the impact of his finest movies. But what are his finest movies? That’s a subject Esquire pushed him on for this video, where he gives rookie Keanu fans a cheat sheet for which of his 68(!) movies they should start with if they want to know the Real Keanu.

So, he cheats a little. “OK, let’s just start with The Matrix—and when I say The Matrix, let’s do the trilogy,” he says. “That’s one.” Fair enough, Mr. Anderson.

Then he goes for his role opposite Al Pacino in The Devil’s Advocate and, finally, “we need something action-y in there, so let’s do Point Break.”

And there you have it! No John Wick, no Bill and Ted, no Constantine or Johnny Mnemonic but, well, when you’re Keanu Reeves, you’ve got to make some sacrifices when it comes to ranking your own work.

The Matrix: Resurrections will reunited Neo, Trinity, Morpheus and the gang — along with some new recruits — to go go back to the source in one of the year’s most anticipated sequels — not to mention the most mysterious. Then Reeves will return to the John Wick franchise for round four and who even knows what after that.
