Kendrick Lamar, U2, and Sam Smith were each confirmed by Billboard today to be performing at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards at Madison Square Garden in New York on January 28. Lamar will open the show.
Lamar is up for seven awards, second only to Jay Z’s eight nominations. No word yet on whether Lamar will be appearing alongside U2 (Lamar and the band appeared on each other’s albums, the respective DA*N and Songs of Experience, in 2017), but it might be the biggest surprise of all that Sam Smith is performing to begin with. The singer’s voiced his displeasure at singing at awards shows in the past.
The Grammys will air on CBS at 7:30 EST on Sunday, January 28.
