Actor Laurence Fishburne has signed on to star in an upcoming remake of the iconic miniseries Roots.
Fishburne will star has Alex Haley, the author of the novel that the original program was based on. The miniseries will air on Lifetime, A&E and History Channel when it debuts next year.
