
The folk revival of the ’00s can largely be credited to Joel and Ethan Coen’s lovely, landmark 2000 film O Brother, Where Art Thou? which had one of the most spectacular and influential soundtracks in history. Now, the Coen Brothers are looking to strike that kind of gold again, by turning their attention to Brooklyn’s early ’60s folk scene in their upcoming film Inside Llewyn Davis. For this soundtrack, they’ve turned to Marcus Mumford, Justin Timberlake, Chris Thile, a few cast members (like Drive‘s Oscar Isaac and Mrs. Mumford herself, Carrie Mulligan) and a couple unreleased Bob Dylan recordings.
