‘Lore’s Aaron Manhke Has Some Really Great Advice About Following Your Dreams

Lore is one of the world’s most popular podcasts, and has been spun off into a book and even a TV show. It’s also led to several other podcasts, which have become hits as well.

The show’s mastermind, Aaron Manhke, writes and voices every single episode. And this week, on Twitter, he sent a reminder about chasing your dreams, no matter how old you are.

He wrote,

Tonight is one of those nights where I sit and struggle to grasp everything that’s happened to me over the last four years. From a failing design business and nearly giving up on writing, to three hit podcasts, a major book series, and a tv show premiering its second season. I still don’t fully understand how I got here, honestly. I never set out to walk this path. I just wanted to find a way to make writing become more than just a hobby. Never did I even consider dreaming of something bigger. And I’m still making it up as I go. Don’t quit. Ever. Not every kite will fly high, but if you quit running, you’ll never know.  You’ll never feel like you have it all together, either, and that’s ok. Just keep doing what you do, grind it out, and wait for the wind to blow. Then watch that kite fly. I didn’t start Lore until I was 39. You don’t have to have it all figured out at 21, or 30, or even 40. You’ll bloom when you’re ready. The only thing that matters is never giving up.If you’re not running through the park, your kite won’t have a chance to fly.

His thoughts should serve as an encouragement to anyone who has a passion and unrealized dreams. Don’t quit. You’re probably just getting started.
