Ben Blatt, the Slate magazine writer who recently used game theory and a series of mathematical probabilities to figure out how to win at The Price Is Right, has now turned his attention to Where’s Waldo. Blatt analyzed pages of Where’s Waldo illustrated hunts in an attempt to recognize patterns that could predict where the striped-shirted mystery man could be. He found that by quickly examining two 1.5 inch planes on each page, you can find Waldo as frequently as 50 percent of the time. Now that’s he’s ruined a timeless game show and a beloved series of childhood books, we can only speculate where Blatt and his dreaded mathematical analysis will strike next …
