Saturday Night Live is coming back next weekend sans Bobby Moynihan, Sasheer Zamata and Vanessa Bayer, but every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end, so there’s some fresh blood in the cast too. Get ready for Darrell Hammond to intro Heidi Gardner, Chris Redd and Luke Null this Saturday—three little-known comics who have landed the plumbest gig in American comedy.
Chris Redd is the best known quantity of the bunch, having already landed a gig in Andy Samberg’s Popstar: Never Stop Stopping. Gardner’s done some comedy writing for Crackle and Null’s better known for his musical comedy. None of them are particularly well-known at this point but, hey, every new cast member has the possibility of being the next Kristen Wiig or Eddie Murphy. We’ll see how they fare this Saturday, when Ryan Gosling hosts the season premiere along with JAY-Z as the musical guest.
