Dinosaur fans, get ready: the Jurassic franchise is set to roar back to life with Jurassic World Rebirth, stomping into theaters on July 2, 2025. (See what we did there?)
Sadly for Christian celebrity fans, Chris Pratt is noticeably absent — no doubt working on another animated voiceover. In his place, Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali will take the reins.
Jurassic World Rebirth picks up five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion. The world has changed, and dinosaurs are now confined to a few isolated tropical environments. The plot follows a team racing to secure DNA from three colossal creatures — one from land, one from the sea, and one from the air — whose genetic material could unlock life-saving medical breakthroughs. But it wouldn’t be a Jurassic movie without some danger; things get hairy when covert ops expert Zora Bennett (Johansson) crosses paths with a shipwrecked family and unearths a shocking secret that’s been buried for decades.
The film will be directed by Rogue One’s Gareth Edwards and written by original Jurassic Park writer David Koepp. It will be the fourth Jurassic World film, following a trilogy which saw each film surpass $1 billion at the global box office. No pressure, but those sure are some pretty big steps to follow.
