Magnifico! Pixar is back with the first full trailer for Luca, a fantastical tale set along the Italian Riviera. Following the heady, high concept Soul, this one feels a little more grounded by Pixar standards — a coming-of-age tale following the friendship of two boys discovering the wonders of gelato, pasta and scooter rides. Oh, they’re also some sort of sea monsters who look like normal humans when they’re out of the water, so it’s not entirely grounded. But the richness and warmth of the village here feels awfully fun and human. On the whole, this movie looks like a little bit of Little Mermaid, a little bit of Call Me By Your Name and maybe a splash of Top Chef. We’ll be able to watch it all on June 18.
