Lee Isaac Chung has enjoyed a long career as a director of quietly powerful movies that sink into your subconscious and have the ability to gently transform your life. The first trailer for Minari sure looks like he’s done it again, starring Steven Yeun as the patriarch of a family of Korean immigrants adjusting to life in rural Arkansas. The film got rave reviews at Sundance with Yeun’s performance specifically being highlighted as a standout — it’s good to see Yeun getting some post-Walking Dead work worthy of his talent. The movie will be coming “soon” in some capacity, apparently. Who knows anymore?
