Former “Co-workers” John Krasinski and Steve Carell Will Reunite on New Film ‘If’

Following the massive success of A Quiet Place, John Krasinski has found the star of his next film. And while it’s not his wife, this time, it is someone who has played a major role in his career.

Deadline reports that none other than Steve Carell, aka THE Michael Scott, will star in Krasinki’s next directorial gig, IF. Carell will join Krasinski, Ryan Reynolds, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Fiona Shaw, Alan Kim, Cailey Fleming and Louis Gossett Jr. in the film.

Krasinski teased the new film on his Instagram, teasing fans with the caption, “Ah, what if one day I could assemble my dream cast? What… IF.” Beyond this literal dream cast, we don’t know what’s in store for everyone, but we do know the story is based on an idea Krasinski had about a child’s journey to rediscover their imagination.

This isn’t the first reunion between Krasinski and Carell, but this is the first professional connection. Back when the pandemic initially began — which feels like a million years ago — Krasinski set up a “news” station in his home to bring hope and positivity to the world. He even called in his “old boss” for an interview, and it was all pretty heart-warming.

Krasinski’s success with A Quiet Place and its sequel was a welcome surprise to audiences. His career has been filled with many light-hearted and humorous roles, most notably Jim Halpert in The Office. The quiet but thrilling story of A Quiet Place showed that Krasinski knows how to hold his own in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Here’s hoping he’s got another success on his hands.

The film is set to premiere November 17, 2023.
